Moving to Lake Wenatchee State Park

Today, we finished packing the rig and got on the road by 11:30 AM. I followed Sonny in the Jeep along I-5 to Highway 18 and East I-90.  We stopped at Snoqualmie Pass for coffee and continued to Cle Elum. The air was pretty murky with fog and probably forest fire smoke.  We arrived at our site around 4 PM. Sonny is liking the lake view from our "front porch" plus the view of frequent, scantily clad, young girls on the way to the bathroom!

It began raining an hour or so ago with some thunder.  Campfires are banned and the rain is much needed for other forest fires burning in Eastern WA.  We haven't seen the Ranger yet but our vehicles are here.  Looks like the GEM (the electric work vehicle) hasn't moved in a long while so we will get the old pick up truck to use.  There are 100 campsites in this park and tonight, the campground is about 75% full.  The road through the connecting 5 loops is pretty narrow and bumpy so typically, this park is for tents, tent trailers and pick up truck campers.  The chipmunks came right away, sniffing my hand for a peanut.

Traffic was slow across the pass for
construction and the air was foggy.

Sonny in the distance heading up Blewett Pass

This guy behind me had a snow plow on.  Looking for rock
slides, perhaps.  Seemed a funny sight to see in the summer.

Downtown Leavenworth where it is HOT!

We are getting settled in.  Time to relax for a minute with
wine, crackers, cheese and a veggie. We added peanut butter later-that's all the food groups, right?!

Peek a boo view of the lake from our "front porch"

This site isn't as nice as last year but is cooler with the breeze
from the lake.  There's the GEM on the left.
